When you think something is wrong you should speak up. Don't think that your voice shouldn't be heard. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that was the case of the Tinker family. Two young teenager viewed and opposed the vietnam war. They wanted to prostest against it. They thought that the best way was to wear black armbands.
The next day the children went to school, and this armbands were to the dislike of the principal. They were immediatly sent home and suspended until they let go of that foolish idea.
Why do people go to extremes to try to silence freedom of speech? It could be a treat to other ideas, and competition is not good. Well the court reached the supreme court and the court ruled in favor of the black armbands. The court claimed to say that as long as this did not interfere with the student work, and learning, then it was okay.
